September 11th The Third Annual Sunride will be held this year on Saturday, September 11 - starting at Club Aquarius. All funds raised will go to local HIV and AIDS Charities. The Sunride is an annual event begun by Aquarius owner, Wayne Kelley, as a way to give back to the community. Each year a local charity which serves the LGBT community is chosen as the recipient. This year the funds will be split among several local HIV/AIDS Charities. The Sunride kicks off at Club Aquarius, 135 E. 2nd Street, in downtown Dayton at 11 a.m. Registration at 10 a.m. The cost to register is $20.00 for adults, $15.00 for students and riders under 18 years of age. Participants 16 and under must have an adult with them. The Sunride will run almost a 20 mile course using the Five Rivers Metroparks Bicycle paths, with water and snack stops provided along the route. Riders and volunteers will be treated to a cookout at Club Aquarius following the ride. Pledge forms can be picked up at Club Aquarius at 135 E. 2nd Street, Dayton, OH 45402. September 11th - LGBT Center Community Dinner. St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 101 Huffman Avenue. Entrée, beverages, table service provided. Bring a side dish or dessert. The evening begins at 5:30 PM with a social hour followed by dinner at 6:30. The dinner will be followed by a program with community announcements and entertainment.

September 24-27th LGBT Film Fest to Celebrate 5th Anniversary - The Downtown Dayton LGBT Film Festival has secured all the titles for this year's festival – set for September 24-26, 2010 at THE NEON in downtown Dayton. Friday, Sep 24 - I KILLED MY MOTHER – a critical and audience favorite at the Cannes Film Festival in 2009. This screening, sponsored by PFLAG Dayton, will be preceded by the premiere of a Canadian short film - THE YOUNG PRIME MINISTER. Following the opening night film is an After-Party - sponsored by Lisa Hanauer & Sue Spiegel – at the Color of Energy Gallery in the Oregon District. This party, to celebrate the festival's 5th Anniversary, will allow fest goers to mingle with visiting filmmakers while relaxing and learning more about upcoming films in the festival. Saturday, Sep 25 - at 3:00 – a collection of short films from around the world. Sponsored by The Human Race Theatre Company, these films range in subject and narrative style and are often beloved by festival attendees. At 7:15, the Greater Dayton LGBT Center will sponsor A MARINE STORY – a film about a decorated Marine officer who unexpectedly returns home from war. Starring Dreya Weber – the lead actress from THE GYMNAST (the festival favorite from 2007) – this film deals with the very topical theme of “Don't Ask, Don't Tell.” At 9:30, MJ’s CAFÉ and performers John, Joe & Justin will sponsor a screening of VIOLET TENDENCIES – the new sexy comedy directed by Casper Andreas and written by Jesse Archer - starring Mindy Cohn (Natalie from TV's “The Facts of Life”). Sunday, Sep 26 - At 3"00 the final day of the festival begins with the documentary STONEWALL UPRISING, a film about the beginning of the Gay Rights Movement – as told by people who were there during the summer of 1969. Sponsored by Miami Valley Fair Housing Center, this screening will be preceded by 2 shorts films – GAY POOL PARTY: 1968 and LAST ADDRESS. . At 5:15, the final film of the festival is the most decorated. Winner of the Audience Award for Best “World Cinema” at this year's Sundance Film Festival, UNDERTOW is a gorgeous ghost story set on the Peruvian seaside. Sponsored by Square One Salon & Spa, this film is not to be missed. Additional sponsors for this year's festival include Marion's Piazza, THE WORD, Warren Riffle & Kurt Fleagel – as well as numerous advertisers in this year's program. Individual tickets for this year's festival go on sale September 10th for $8.00 each. A festival pass, good for admission to all 6 screenings, will be available beginning September 3rd for $40. These tickets can be purchased at THE NEON's box office in downtown Dayton. Follow I-75 to the intersection with I-675 and head north toward Columbus.
Exit at the first exit, which is exit 2: S.R. 725/Miamisburg-Centerville Rd.
Turn right onto S.R. 725 and continue to the fifth traffic light.
Turn left on to Congress Park Dr and take the first left into the church parking lot.
