PFLAG Dayton
What We Do
PFLAG is an organization of LGBTQ+ people, parents, families, and allies who work together to create an equitable and inclusive world. We are hundreds of thousands of people and hundreds of chapters from coast to coast who are leading with love to support families, educate allies, and advocate for just, equitable, and inclusive legislation and policies. Since our founding in 1973, PFLAG works every day to ensure LGBTQ+ people everywhere are safe, celebrated, empowered and loved.
In Dayton, Miami County, and the surrounding Miami Valley Area, LGBTQ+ people and those who love them are served by PFLAG Dayton.
SUPPORT – We are proud to organize and facilitate several opportunities each month for peer support and community building. We also host, attend, and sponsor several community events each year such as the Q+ Prom, Community Game Night, and Pride.
EDUCATION – Our monthly community support meetings feature guest speakers who share their expertise and experiences with the LGBTQIA+ community. We are dedicated to providing access to a rich array of resources—local, regional, state, and national—to support and uplift everyone. We also host, attend, and sponsor more in-depth educational programs throughout the year.
ADVOCACY – We strive to partner with other local and national organizations to educate key decision-makers about the issues that affect our loved ones and families, and to teach others how to use their voices to amplify our efforts toward a more equitable, and just world for the LGBTQIA+ community.
